Day 1: Hanoi   (Dinner)
After meeting the guide and transfer to the hotel in Hanoi, get together for welcome drinks and a tour briefing. To finish off the day attend the performance of the special Vietnamese water puppetry.

 

Day 2: Hanoi     (Breakfast - Lunch)
Hanoi is filled with greenery and style, renowned for its cultured atmosphere. Peaceful tree-lined boulevards, romantic lakes and French architecture allowing you to step back in time. Interesting sites to visit: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the impressive house on stilt that was uncle Ho’s residence; the One Pillar Pagoda; the historical Temple of Literature, known as Vietnam’s first university; the Ethnological Museum; take an hour tour on a trishaw, to discover the heart of Hanoi - the bustling Old Quarter. The narrow streets are a buzz with the life of the city: trade, food and all sorts of interesting activities.

 

Day 3 Hanoi - Ha Long   (Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner)
In the morning drive from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the countryside with its rice fields and water buffaloes. On arrival in Ha Long, board the traditional wooden junk. A seafood lunch will be served while cruising among the hundreds of scattered islets throughout the Bay. Visit Sung Sot Cave, and witness a splendid sunset. Dinner and overnight on boat.

 

Day 4 Ha Long - Hanoi - Hue  (Breakfast - Lunch)
Early morning coffee and tea will be served on the sundeck followed by a Tai Chi class. Continue exploring the bay and change to a small motor or rowing boat to visit Luon Cave. Passing through a pretty entrance, enter a tranquil lake, surrounded by luxuriant trees and high stone walls. Afterwards return to the cruise and enjoy breakfast before checking out. On the way to Hanoi visit Do temple, enjoy a traditional Quan Ho Folk song show. Transfer directly to the airport for flight to the Imperial city of Hue.

 

Day 5 Hue -  (Breakfast - Lunch)
Hue is one of Viet Nam’s most cultural and historical cities. It was once ruled by the emperors of the Nguyen dynasty. Sightseeing to include: the impressive tombs of King Minh Mang and Tu Duc. Later cruise on the Perfume River and see the Old Thien Mu Pagoda. In the afternoon, visit the Forbidden Citadel and the crowded market of Dong Ba where you can bargain for anything from souvenirs and bronze goods, to Hue sesame sweetmeat and conical poem hats.

 

Day 6 Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An (Breakfast - Lunch)
Today, cross the spectacular Hai Van Pass to reach Da Nang city. Here, visit the Cham Museum and take a short break at Marble Mountain, then continue to Hoi An, an ancient town of meandering narrow streets dating back to the 16th century. An afternoon tour to include the Japanese Bridge, Phuoc Kien Pagoda, the ancient house Tran Phu and the Hoi An Museum. Enjoy shopping  for tailor made clothing, lanterns, shoes and food, or simply relax on the beach.

 

Day 7 Hoi An - My Son (Breakfast - Lunch)
Today visit My Son Holy land, 70 km southwest of Da Nang,

once the capital of the mighty Champa Kingdom.

It is a complex of ancient ruins dating back 1,700 years ago,

the most complete example of ancient Champa ruins in Vietnam.

 

Day 8 Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh City (Breakfast - Lunch)
Sightseeing to include: the controversial War Remnants Museum,

the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Post office.

In the afternoon, see Thien Hau Pagoda, Chinatown and the busy

market of Cho Lon. Explore Dong Khoi Street, the city’s most upscale

shopping boulevard with boutiques selling clothes and accessories by Vietnamese designers, hill tribe crafts, high quality linens and house wares.  Don’t miss Ho Chi Minh City’s atmosphere by night. This city lives up to its exciting and often mischievous reputation.

 

Day 9 Ho Chi Minh City - My Tho - Can Tho   (Breakfast - Lunch)
This morning, journey south to My Tho town, the gateway to the Mekong Delta, and take a motor boat on Tien Giang to visit Thoi Son Island. These small boats are an efficient way to travel in this area, which is known as the rice bowl of Vietnam. Continuing on tor Can Tho, arriving in the late afternoon. The rest of the day is free time.

 

Day 10 Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh City  (Breakfast - Lunch)
After an early start we take a long distance cruise on the Hau River to see Cai Rang floating market. Walk on a quiet country road to take in the magnificent scenery and observe the locals as they go about their daily routines. Return to Ho Chi Minh City.

 

Day 11 Depart Ho Chi Minh City   (Breakfast)
Free at leisure until time to transfer to the airport for departure flight.
